Do I need a car?

-
It's not essential.
GreenPark is served by a direct bus service to Reading town centre and railway station, which runs every 7-8 minutes from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm and thereafter every 20 minutes until 11.00 pm. Reading's mainline station serves the Paddington and Waterloo lines to the east, Bristol and the West Country to the west, and Birmingham and The Midlands to the north.
Longer term, the public transport options are set to expand with the provision of a new station on the Reading-Basingstoke line that will link the park to the local rail network.
For those who would prefer to leave their car at home, an innovative car-sharing scheme is in place. How this works – who drives, when and how often – is down entirely to what suits you and those you share the journey with. A car share database is open to help find fellow sharers whose routes and schedules match yours. This scheme is run through the GreenPark extranet which is open to all current occupiers and provides information on all park facilities on and around the park.
And for those who prefer to travel under their own steam, the park's cycleways provide safe, traffic free routes that will ultimately link with Reading's wider cross-town network.
